I like her, I like him, so, my vote might actually count in this election, however, my husband made an observation about the debates.
During the last 3 debates when Barack is asked how he would solve a particular problem, he points out what's wrong, how the problem came to be, and who created the problem, and does so with great eloquence and thoughtfulness, but when he starts to speak about how to fix the problem, his speech seems to stumble, falter, indicate he's not sure. He seems to be a "point out the problem" guy not a "here's how to fix it" guy.
I was impressed with HRC when she made the comment about his being on the Foreign Relations committee and hadn't done anything. His answer was, he was appointed to the committee when he started running for President and so hasn't had the opporunity to legislate from the committee, and that he is new to the job.
Okay, how long is it going to take him to not be "new" to the job of President? And, if he was appointed to the committee when he started running for President, why didn't he resign from the committee since he couldn't fully participate in the Foreign Relations committee's agenda? He's been on the campaign trail for about a year, so what is he doing on that committee besides improving his resume?
And she's just as guilty about abandoning the people's business. However, she has been ready to answer the question about what she needs to do to fix the problem. But I'm still not convinced by her "can do" attitude.
I don't mean to harp on him, but my husband made some good points ===> and he' not even registered to vote---- he's one of those conspiracy theorists who thinks if he is registered to vote, then the gov't will know all of his business. Yes Yes Yes, I've tried all the arguments... I just find it really interesting that as an unregistered voter, and he does seem to like Barack Obama, he makes that kind of observation.
But as an undecided yellow-dog Texas democrat, I sure do wish I could make up my mind. Anybody have any persuasive arguments?
UPDATE:
Thank you, I appreciate the Obama camp doing it's job to persuade me and your words of praise are not being taken lightly ---
I am just not impressed with HOW he's going to fix the problems he's inheriting, and tax increases for the rich aren't going to fix the economy's problems. I'm not for her either, and her policies aren't all that inspriring. But I just don't feel good about either choice and NOT because they are bad choices-- because they both (regardless of Bill) are good people who want to improve the lot in life the American middle-class seems to find itself. They want to improve the lot-in-life the American lower class seems to find itself also.. those, who through no fault of their own, can't seem to get out of the "poverty" level.
Again, thank you one and all ... I appreciate your comments and will endeavor to make a good choice on March 3. Thank you!!
