The script after the jump.
The image on the screen... a sleeping child, no doubt having pleasant dreams about being secure under a new Clinton administration. The announcer, in ominous tones, begins...
"It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone in the White House, and it’s ringing. Something’s happened in the world.
Your vote will decide who answers the call. Whether it’s someone who already knows the world’s leaders, knows the military. Someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world.
It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the phone?"
Now, at first you might wonder why Hillary is writing ads for McCain. And you might wonder why she's providing talking points for McCain. You might wonder why she called Obama "a blank screen", using a passage from his book against him. You might wonder why she would use such a blantant "fear bomb" against someone in her own party.
I don't wonder about these things. But you might.
Seems to me that Ms. Clinton has decided that if she can't be the nominee -- which it seems more certain than ever she WON'T be -- then Democrats don't DESERVE to win in November and she's positioned to run against McCain or whoever in 2012.
Or, I could be wrong. I hope I am.
