I hate to waste a diary on this, but this is important. The precinct I voted at this morning has apparently shut down, and I can't seem to get in touch with anybody.
This morning I was able to vote without any problem, however I just spoke to my mom on the phone and she was unable to vote in the Democratic primary. The precinct we're in is a small precinct, but apparently they're having problems with the electronic voting machines. They have 4 voting machines at this precinct, and 1 card for each machine. The problem they're running into is that the cards are not able to be wiped and reset, and all four cards will now only load the Republican ballot.
I called the Obama campaign hotline, and was told they would pass the information on, but I wasn't too certain the woman who answered the phone was all that concerned about it.
So I tried calling the Ohio Democratic Party, and I'm not able to get anyone on the line at all.
Any and all suggestions would be a huge help. I told my mother to go back and ask for a provisional ballot (even though I know she's going to vote for Hillary) and she's doing so right now, but there are many others who may not know that they can fill out a provisional ballot and simply won't vote, or worse will end up voting for McCain.
By the way, this is in Miami County, precinct 021
UPDATE: I just spoke with a friend of mine who votes at the same precinct, and he said they've stopped voting at this precinct. I don't know what's going on there, but I'm really concerned.
UPDATE 2: Called the local Board of Elections and they say they're handling it, so we'll see how it works out. The Obama campaign told me that they hope they'll extend voting in that precinct, and to keep in touch with them if I find out any other news.
UPDATE 3: Just got a phone call from the Obama campaign, they're sending someone from the Dayton field office to handle the problem.
