The campaign of Senator Barack Obama is being run by the candidate, his wife and by his chief strategist David Axelrod. The negative attacks and stumbles in the two weeks since the Wisconsin primary took their toll in Ohio and Texas. Now Obama is going negative.
According to Axelrod today:
On to the call by Obama's chief strategist, David Axelrod.
"What's good for the goose is good for the gander. The vetting of Hillary Clinton is just going to start," he said.
The buzzwords: Vin Gupta and taxes.
"We're going to ask your guys to your jobs."

The entire Clinton meme these past two weeks was to undermine Obama's strength--his character.
(1) deval patrick plagiarism
(2) Michelle's "proud" moment
(2) nafta-canadian govt debacle
(3) rezko trial
(4) the dressed Obama foto and other assorted muslim smears
(5) 3:00 AM ad
This was a lot of bad stuff to withstand. Axelrod seems to get it now. One of the Clinton's REAL weak points is on honesty and character. Obama must be willing to hit her over and over on her taxes, her political calculation instead of principled leadership, norman hsu, and yes go back to the 90s and the scandal a minute clintons. Use the surrogates to push the 90s stuff while Obama MUST push the other stuff HIMSELF. Take off the long white gloves senator. If it's so crucial to stop these people from getting power again then dammnit do what it takes by honestly going after them.
Quick running out the clock Mr. Axelrod! Go on offense. Hillary's going on SNL, Daily Show and every other free media. Don't hide our best asset--Obama! Send him out all over t.v. Let him talk sports.
Also can we get a little more clever with the ads? That last two-minute closer with Senator Obama reminded me of Hillary Clinton's two-minute spot on Iowa eve. Harness some of that great stuff coming out of You Tube.
Finally, that 3:00AM ad should have been answered thusly by the Obama campaign:
Narrator: "It's 3 AM...blah blah"...ring ring ring....(all of sudden Barack Obama appears and answers the phone)....Obama: "Thanks Hillary, everything is all under control here. I saw you on TV today on the senate floor...you look like you need some rest." funny and devastating.
Other questions: Where's the announcement for our February fundraising? Where's the usual roll-out of new endorsements?
