I have come to the conclusion that more primaries are fairly useless at this point. Why? Neither canidate has a path to the nomination without the super-delegates.. more below
Let us examine where we are now:
- Neither canidate will reach 2025 delegates without super-delegate help.
- HRC can nor realistically gain the pledged delegate lead (and I think it's very unlikely that it will change by more than 10 or 20 either way if we go through June).
- These primaries are very expensive and are becoming very divisive.
- There is no way either canidate can knock the other one out at this point... even if obama pulled off pennsylvania there is no guarantee clinton would quit.
- It's pretty unlikely that HRC will ever catch Obama in the popular vote (given he's currently up by 800,000 or so).
- Both canidates have demonstrated they have strong support.. Obama may have a bit more.. but it's one of those 51-49 things.
So what do we do? I really have no idea.. but I see no point to more voting.. It's time for the supers to do the job they were created for.. we have an intractable position tha requires a compromise.... Obama is going to finish this thing with the pledged delegate lead, but not enough to put him over the top. We need some sort of brokered solution and IMO, the sooner the better.
It's my opinion that more voting is only going to make things worse.. it's very unlikely we are going to have anything decisive either way... and this is only going to divide our base and exhaust our funds.
