I strongly urge everyone to take 10 minutes and listen to this interview - you're going to learn a lot. You will learn some hard economic facts that our government and supporters of the war don't want you to know; information that is not going to make you happy. Every candidate for President and all those who support the war should be made to publicly defend their position based on this information. There's so much detail you must listen not just read the few highlights I present here.
In this interview Nobel laureate economics professor Joseph Stiglitz talks about the cost of the Iraq war, which he estimates will cost upwards of $5 trillion, yes trillion. He also says the war is being financed 100% by new debt unlike any war in U.S. history. Learn how/why our veterans are getting shafted in the most despicable, immoral, manner; even older vets are getting hurt. So much is revealed in this interview it will knock you into reality if you've been in denial or ignorant of the facts.
The Iraq War and especially the information in this interview should be made a HUGE part of our presidential debate. The American people need to know how their economic future is being destroyed and by whom, for what purpose, and what they can expect to get for their investment.
I don't know how to do it myself but I hope all of you here at dKos can help make sure this critically important information gets into the political discussions asap and into the minds of American citizens.
