Before one even considers the roll call of delegates selected by popular vote, the so-called superdelegates should be considered, since they were known in advance and the majority of them have declared endorsements.

Rhode Island has two congressional districts where the statewide popular vote determines the proportion of delegates for each candidates and the declared delegates in each district are chosen from those who obtained the most votes themselves.
Out of 186,029 statewide Democratic Primary votes, Clinton obtained 108,750 popular votes or 58.45% whereas Obama received 75,115 popular votes or 40.37%
