With the GOPpers having definitely decided on their guy and the Dems down to two. I thought we might cover the previous Second Fiddles. Also known as VPOTUS (Vice President of the United States). Did you know that one of our Veeps was indicted for murderedand later accused of treason? And he was succeeded by a Clinton, first name George. Scary ain't it? Names intertwined, situations familiar 200 years later.
There have been 43 Presidents but 72 Vice Presidents. That's because until the last 4 two term Presidents it was more common to dump the VP for the second term. Thirteen Vice Presidents went on to become President. Nine ascended to the office four were elected on their own. Of the nine that ascended only four were re-elected and Teddy was the first of these. Two VPs served two different Presidents. Four of the VPs that ascended had no VP during their term as President.
I apologize for the jumbled list. If anyone knows how to format the damned thing where it stays aligned email me you phone number and we'll walk it through.

You'll also note that there were many years that we had no Second Fiddle. And we're not talking about just a few months of a year. In several of those cases it was multiple years. So this crap about not impeaching this current Second Fiddle because it would lead to a vacancy is BS. There is precedent for going without a number two.
Oh btw, some irony for you. Aaron Burr as VP and therefore the President of the Senate presided over the impeachment of Samuel Chase a sitting Supreme Court Justice. Chase was impeached for;
Samuel Chase (April 17, 1741 – June 19, 1811), was an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court and earlier was a signatory to the United States Declaration of Independence as a representative of Maryland. He was well-known as a staunch Federalist, and was impeached for allegedly letting his partisan leanings affect his court decisions, but he was acquitted.
Alright, you guys can have some fun looking up more interesting points about our number twos. Remember, I didn't even talk about Spiro T.
Now, some clarification on what we do here. This is meant to be a light-hearted diary where we have fun and gather mojo. The only objects of political humor here are GOPpers. Jokes even if they are not meant to be harsh on a Democrat will probably be taken that way, so;
NO JOKES OR DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES HERE, PLEASE.
Mojo Friday Guidelines
- If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to recieve mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
- Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
- You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
- You don't have to comment to recommend.
- You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
- Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments
- Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo
Mojo Friday Goals
A. at least 200 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by goffnews.
G. (New) Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 100 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
