Hillary is poisoning the well by saying Obama cannot be CINC, making a successful campaign against McCain impossible. She is also suggesting Obama could be her VP--in an effort to get people to vote for her--it's the ol' two for the price of one theory.
How should Obama respond? By saying he will never, ever be her VP. That's playing hardball.
Obama should issue today a Shermanesque/LBJ statement that he would never accept and would in fact reject his party's nomination for VP....
That would force voters, and more important, the superdelegates to choose between the two right now....It would also poison the well for any Hillary run against McCain because she would have to run having won the nomination dirty without Obama's seal of approval, with half the convention walking out, with the African American community leaving her forever, and with Bill no longer being the first black President.
And, Obama would do better being the Governor of Illinois, rather than being the third wheel behind Bill in any Hillary adminisration. Talk about a living Hell....being lead around by the nose by Hillary for years and years....Please Barack, it is win or go home....Go talk to Al Gore about consolation prizes...
Or, Axelrod could give Woflson a call and tell him to cool-it on the CINC stuff, or Obama issues his Shermanesque statement. After all, if Hillary does not think Obama can be CINC, then she would have no business putting him on the ticket as VP, when being qualified to be CINC is a prerequiste for the position.
Right back at ya', Hillary.
