Yeah, this diary is totally awesome.
Sweet! Tucker is canceled!
Maybe.
Insiders tell TVNewser Tucker Carlson's 6pmET show Tucker is getting the axe, but Carlson stays on as a political contributor to all MSNBC shows at least through the 2008 election.
Wow. How cool is that.
Apparently, he might get canceled, and if he does he might stay on as a contributor to all MSNBC shows.
Through the 2008 elections.
SHIT, everyone get excited! Tucker is gone!
Maybe. And he might stay on as a contributor for another year. But still! Let's all go crazy!
I won't be one of those idiots who says "DailyKos has 'jumped the shark'" or some such bullshit, but holy fuck people.
Tucker did NOT get canceled.
He MIGHT get canceled.
That is the story.
It's a "maybe."
A "possible."
A "who knows, it might happen."
Yet it's on the rec list.
Are you fucking kidding me?
I've been listening to the Clinton freaks babbling about how we've lost our "reality based community" and how we're all losing our perception.
I've been here while idiots are claiming (every single week, mind you) that DailyKos has jumped the shark; or that kos himself has jumped the shark; or that the Front Pager writers have collectively jumped the shark; and frankly, it's all bullshit.
How the FUCK does a "Someone we don't like might get canceled" link get on the Recommended list?
I guess it's OK to get excited and put our support behind a diary that claims that someone we don't like it getting canceled, regardless of whether it's true or not. Hooray!
Have our brains taken a vacation?
Are we boycotting basic intelligent discourse?
It certainly seems like it.
We should take a long, hard look at ourselves and at what we recommend or what we decide is acceptable discourse.
"Reality based" isn't just a meaningless slogan, people. It actually MEANS something. We stand for reality, we stand for truth. We argue with facts, not wishful thinking. We use reality in our arguments; we don't use bullshit.
What's sitting on the Recommended list right now is a poor example of what we should stand for. It's speculation at best.
And I'm ashamed of this site for supporting it.
