How's your blood pressure?
The University of Iowa just wasted $40,000 to war-criminal Karl Rove for a few hours "work". That was his fee for one night of a "speech" which basically consisted of waving his genitals Monty-Python style, in the student's general direction.
Rove had a lot of rules for his speech. He wanted there to be absolutely no recordings of his "speech" allowed. He finally agreed to banning recording media to the first five minutes.
In his discussion, Rove managed to insult and mock the students who came to see him, and, presumably, their parents who paid for this abuse.
One of his worst lines, that mocks the very heart of our system of this "nation of laws"? He joked: "I Fully Expect To Be Indicted By The End Of The Year".
Nice.
Here's the story from Think Progress.
During the lecture, Rove lashed out at hostile questioners, telling one man his comment showed "a simple, stupid mind" and chastised what he said were "stupid statements" from the audience. Rove also said that former Amb. Joseph Wilson "lied" about his 2002 trip to Niger and accused an audience member of "perpetuating libel" on the U.S. military for asking about the real number of deaths in the Iraq war:
The Daily Iowan goes into a much better about the warm reaction from the audience:
Boos exuberantly punctuated the UI Lecture Committee's introduction and dozens in the audience stood, turning their backs when President Bush's former deputy chief of staff and top aide took the stage. A woman charged up an aisle, her hands shaking, as she called for Rove to be arrested. And in a row near the front, a veteran told a different 84-year-old veteran to "F--- off" when he asked him to stop shouting.
Good for them.
At the end of the talk, an audience member shouted at Rove: "Can we have our $40,000 back?" Rove replied: "No, you can’t."
Nice. Aren't there laws about murderers being prohibited from making money from their crimes?
