Upfront - I am a Barack Obama Supporter
Like many of us -- the tizzy over Michigan and Florida has lead to a "what the fuck to do"
None of us want to disenfranchise these VOTERS ... so what to do!
As for Michigan, I have no freakin clue, and I am not even going to pretend that I have any idea whatsoever on this one.
But Florida -- I think I have come up with an idea.
Don't Seat Them At All While this is the "Rules are Rules" argument, many of us here know that politics is about compromise, and that the idea of even the perception of disenfranchisement of especially Florida voters is a bad idea.
Florida Vote Redo Oh My Fucking God!!! .... I can NOT think of a worse idea. This primary election has become so toxic as it is, that the idea of extending it even longer should be thought of as a bad idea by EVERYONE. FLORIDA as the center of the storm again!! ... No thank you!!!
Seat the Pledged, Not the Supers This is a modification of the "some pigs are more equal than other pigs" Voters should NOT be disenfranchised. Those that came out and voted should have their votes counted. Those that didn't weren't committed enough, imo. But "Super Delegates" -- they knew better all along. They should not be rewarded even more for engaging in breaking the rules. They can not claim that they have been disenfranchised -- They had their opportunity to vote, they shouldn't be further rewarded with a further power to sway the election.
That's it. I would be interested in hearing from all sides, and I actually think that this is a good idea myself. So I am actually including a poll on this one.
