It doesn't take a Sean Hannity fan to discern the disaster looming ahead for Obama with the Pastor Wright Problem.
I say this as a strong supporter of Obama, whom I don't believe should be tarnished with guilt-by-association. And believe me when I say that I share many of Wright's sentiments about America's culpability in the world--all hard-core lefties share such sentiments. I'm making a practical political point, which has been confirmed by a dip over the last 48 hours in Obama's Intrade probability market, and a bigger uptick in Hillary's. I'm very afraid that this is the beginning of the end for Obama, and that the right's jumping on this will totally screw Barack. Pastor Wright is the Donna Rice of the Obama campaign. (Notice that Hillary's not jumping on it--her campaign has been largely silent on the Wright issue, which makes it all the more striking as a big problem for Obama--she's letting it do its dirty work without her.)
I mean, Obama titled his bestselling book after a phrase from one of the guy's sermons, and now the guy is saying God Damn America on tape. This is a very sad day for Obamamaniacs like me. I'm the least optimistic I've been since Iowa.
Ugh.
