Well , so much for the direct mail method that the NRCC instituted to save money and raise cash.
A day after the news that former treasurer, Christopher Ward "borrowed" $740,000 for his own use
from the GOP coffers , phones must have started ringing.

They must be short more than $740 grand. A lot more
Why do i think that?
At 8:30 this morning the NRCC called me. They said I was an outstanding business leader in my state and
that they wanted to "recognize me with "their highest honor- the congressional order of merit" .
All I had to do was call 1-877-829-4716 right away and talk with them as soon a possible.
I'm pretty certain that every one of their presumptions is a lie. But consider the source.
I don't know how I got on the list with these people in the first place. But I do know why I am now.
It was around the time of the '04 campaign that I sent in a postcard reply to the RNC because I was curious
what a donation bought. According to the letter I got back, various amounts bought anywhere from
a rubber chicken dinner with a group of other 'business leaders' - to "quality time with Cheney".
I also received a nice color photo of the president which comes in handy in photoshop work.
(I keep it hidden though cause it scares the cat.)
If the GOP offers you a face to face for money, why isn't this considered to be Influence peddling?
Let me just say, I have never voted for any Repub candidate. No matter how bad the choices were,
they were never the lesser of two evils and I've been voting since Nixon. In fact I ran into one of
the local R party mucks that I've known since high school. He was criticizing many of the presidential
candidates of both parties (this was before McCain's annointing) but especially the Dems.
I got a big smile on my face and said: " Oh yes! and the last six years have worked out so well haven't they?"
He replied by giving me the finger!
I won't be calling the NRCC to claim my "Order of Merit" if such a thing does exist, but you can call
and claim you deserve one just as much as me. I'll repeat the number for you 1-877-829-4716.
Ask for Angel Price. You see, when I had an 800 number it cost me 30 to 50 cents every time a
wrong number called.
