Let's talk about audiences and revenue generation at progressive political blogs.
I note that a diary calling for a "writers' strike" at Daily Kos currently sits atop the rec list at MyDD. I also note that this same, cross-posted diary spent the better part of a day on the rec list at Daily Kos. One of the posters recommending the diary at Daily Kos was Jerome Armstrong, the proprietor of MyDD.
Traffic at Daily Kos is considerably larger than traffic at MyDD. Thus, Markos makes far more money in ad revenue from Daily Kos than Jerome makes from MyDD.

So one wonders why Jerome would recommend a diary at Daily Kos that seems designed to reduce site traffic at Markos' site. Does Jerome think it's a good idea to drive down traffic at the site of a good friend in the progressive blogosphere?
MyDD, like most political blogs, has enjoyed a surge of traffic thanks to this protracted nomination race. But if Jerome feels it is appropriate to recommend a diary at Daily Kos that essentially calls for a boycott of Daily Kos by Clinton supporters, it only makes sense that Obama supporters should boycott MyDD, a hotbed of anti-Obama fervor led by SusanHu and others. (A quick look at the rec list at any point in time generally reveals a majority of diaries tearing down Obama.)
It's all about page views and ad revenue in the end. Why Jerome would support the idea of purposely driving down site traffic at a friend's progressive blog makes absolutely no sense.
Perhaps Obama supporters should actively boycott MyDD. It is loaded with hate-filled invective directed at Barack Obama.
Jerome and his site do not deserve the traffic or the page views.
Boycott MyDD?
Jerome certainly seems to support the concept when applied to Daily Kos.
