Call John Edwards' Office and politely urge him not to endorse Hillary Clinton.
This will not be a long diary, just straight to the point. Below the fold is an email I received from an anonymous volunteer in North Carolina.
Dear Friends -
I was watching the Chris Matthews show yesterday morning and when he did the "tell me something I don't know" segment, Richard Stengel, the editor of Time Magazine said that John Edwards would be making an endorsement before the NC primary (maybe earlier) and it would be Hillary Clinton.
(From transcript of the show - for full transcript, go to http://www.thechrismatthewsshow.com/... )
MATTHEWS: Richard Stengel?
Mr. STENGEL: John Edwards. Senator John Edwards--remember him?--who's been
conspicuously silent since he dropped out of the race, will endorse a
Democratic candidate probably before North Carolina, certainly before North
Carolina, possible before Pennsylvania. And our own Mark Halpern on the Page
says it's going to be Senator Hillary Clinton.
So my friends, it's time for us to call, write, send letters, emails, blogs ANYTHING and EVERYTHING and tell John Edwards we feel he should NOT to do that!
AND please forward this note to everyone you can think of who might be willing to contact him.
I suggest that when you write, email, call or fax, you are respectful to Sen. Edwards and what he stands for ... if you supported him in the past (as I did in 2004), I suggest you mention that ... and make your case in a thoughtful manner. (I just see so many vile-filled blogs in cyberspace ... I hate to see Senator Obama represented by some of those comments ... I just want to be sure when we make our case to Senator Edwards we do it in the spirit of unity and hope that our candidate inspires!)
I've looked for contact info and the only thing I could find is on the Edwards for President website ... but the phones are still connected and I got an auto response when I sent something to the Edwards campaign office ... so it seems things are still active.
If anyone has a better contact suggestion, please respond to all of us.
How to contact Senator Edwards ...
There is a contact form at http://www.johnedwards.com/...
I also sent my email to info@johnedwards.com, press@johnedwards.com and scheduler@johnedwards.com ... assuming the press or scheduler contacts might be more likely to check their email.
