I was riding back w/ my wife from our martial arts class and told her I needed to hit up the mall to grab another Polo type shirt for work. We get home shower up and i head out.
Heading up the main road to the mall, i'm stopped at a green light with a slew of cars in front of me, i could roll into the traffic and block the intersection but i'm not an asshole. Cars in front of me and to my right are basically crowding the intersection wait / hoping the green will diffuse the situation. Still green. guy behind me lays on his horn because i didn't enter the intersection.
I get the time to move forward because...well there are no cars there now and traffic is starting to flow. Guy behind me hurls into the lane on my right lays on the horn for a good 10 - 15 seconds while cutting off the guy right in front of me. We're talking DC traffic here.
Thinking the deal was over. I calmly park my car and go about my mission to get a new polo shirt. I pass a COP on my way into the mall and make my awareness noticed by acknowledging the officer with a "good day to you sir" I'm walking into the mall and someone grabs me by my right arm.
Needless to say he got a Ikkyo Tenkan head first into a Dasani Water vending machine before getting Kaitenaged onto the concrete. 13 year old son approaches towards where i turn it "the ki" on and in no technique, everyone backs away...even the cop.
Cop heard the collision of the dude going into the Dasani machine and comes over and tells the guy to leave immediately. I didn't press charges....and made it clear that i wasn't the offender and actually had a nice little conversation w/ the cop for a few minutes.
What I want to say is that, while i'm a 2nd degree Black Belt in Aikido, it's all random when it comes to that situation. You NEVER know when that situation will arise. And the response needs to be appropriate. I'm glad 11 years out of my life wasn't hasn't been thrown to the waste. Coming from a guy that practice's American Kenpo for a short term, i'm grateful that there were no injuries.
I guess what i'm saying is that this is the first time i've experienced a road rage type incident. And it followed me to the mall regardless of what i did and what i would never want.
While this guy was stupid enough to do this "IN FRONT OF A COP" (which might be the #1 stupid thing to do), i do feel kinda bad that I had to hurt this guy. That's just my MO.
But since this diary isn't a candidate diary, lets make it one.
GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!
