While reading The Field I found out that Dan Lipinski (IL-3) endorsed and will vote for Obama (I am not a resident so I am not calling the office (this is in the comments about 3/5 of the way down the page). Also I didn't find this on his website at all or at demconwatch
And now onto the main topic of the diary...
Who is scarier, Tweety or John McCain.
Well.... Who is it?
check out this Anatol Lieven in the Financial Times
Evidence after the jump.
In all fairness I like watching Tweety because you never know who will show up: Chris Matthews talking about the "Chinese bus" his son is riding on the night of the Potomac Primary, Mr. I am going to ask you about something you weren't briefed on (to Kirk Watson), the dancing king who was on Ellen, or a decent journalist as he is about 40-60% of the time. The multiple personalities contained within Tweety could be considered scary.
However John McCain is a hawk.
Reflecting the neo-conservative programme of spreading democracy by force, Mr McCain declared in 2000: "I’d institute a policy that I call ‘rogue state rollback’. I would arm, train, equip, both from without and from within, forces that would eventually overthrow the governments and install free and democratically elected governments." Mr McCain advocates attacking Iran if necessary in order to prevent it developing nuclear weapons, and last year was filmed singing "Bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys’ "Barbara Ann".
Mr McCain suffers from more than the usual degree of US establishment hatred of Russia, coupled with a particular degree of sympathy for Georgia and the restoration of Georgian rule over Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He advocates the expulsion of Russia from the Group of Eight leading industrialised nations and, like Mr Scheunemann, is a strong supporter of early Nato membership for Georgia and Ukraine. Mr Scheunemann has accused even Condoleezza Rice, secretary of state, of "appeasement" of Russia. Nato expansion exemplifies the potential of a McCain presidency. Apart from the threat of Russian reprisals, if the Georgians thought that in a war they could rely on US support, they might be tempted to start one. A McCain presidency would give them good reason to have faith in US support.
So under John McCain we will not only be at war in Afghanistan and Iraq but most likely North Korea and Iran with a possibility of being at war with Russia. In fact John McCain could be considered the "King Hawk"
So is a King Hawk scarier than Tweety
Oh Joy.
Disclaimer: This writer favors Sen. Obama over Sen. Clinton and would vote for a space heater (I like my space heater) over Sen. McCain, although I am not the happiest that Sen. Clinton is wading back into the Rev. Wright issue. I personally think that the King Hawk is scarier than Tweety
