I don't want to cry about the injustice at having been banned from a website. That'd be childish. However, I find it disturbing to see what has started to happen within the Democratic Party. Backers of Hillary Clinton writing threatening letters to the Speaker of the House, Hillary Clinton appearing with a man who spent nearly a decade trying to ruin her and her husband, her campaign's distribution of an article from the American Spectator.. what we are seeing is the continued manifestation of Hillary Clinton's Right Wing.
I'll say it again. Hillary Clinton's Right Wing. It's right up there next to her delayed outrage over the Florida/Michigan situation. You know, that outrage from her and her supporters which is too little too late. Outrage that could have been legitimate if it came when the situation with Florida and Michigan first started. Outrage that only showed itself after the pro-Feb5th states of NH/IA/NV/SC had already voted. This is not to be confused with the Limbaugh ditto-heads who showed up in Mississippi. When I say "Limbaugh ditto-heads," I don't mean the ditto-heads of Marsh Limbaugh.
These are Democrats for Clinton who have become desperate, and in their desperation they have turned to the dark side. The ways of the Republican Party. Their policies may not be the same, but their tactics and character are now all but side by side. Their news sources have become similar. Their willingness to strike a low blow is equally intense. The quickness in which they claim that Barack Obama plays the race card to avoid charges of racism, whether those charges of racism are real or imagined. What is certainly real is the perception of the Clinton campaign as a machine that resembles the machine of the Republican Party. Which came first?
I was banned from MyDD.com because I criticized the site administration for not providing any real leadership. I criticized him for having a constant hang-up over Reverend Wright. Indeed, the majority of his recent posts have been about that despite far more note-worthy news being out there. While he may be a supporter of Hillary Clinton, I would expect him to occasionally argue something else besides how bad Wright is for Obama. Holding onto Wright as though they are holding onto their last hope to ever see Hillary Clinton made President, and they themselves thus proved right in their judgment to support her throughout this long process.
Sure, criticizing the site adminsitrator is always a bone-headed idea, but that doesn't mean it was the wrong thing to do. Under Jerome Armstrong, much of My Direct Democracy has festered into a cancerous tumor that bares more resemblance to Redstate than it does to a Democratic blog. We are living in interesting times. Times where it isn't unusual to see Newsmax and World Net Daily used as sources in the blogs over at MyDD. Times where it isn't unusual to hear people say that O'Reilly is better than Olbermann or Campbell. When Foxnews becomes "Fair and Balanced" in the eyes of Democrats.
In short, I feel that Armstrong has allowed MyDD to become My Direct Demonizer. A place where insults to Olbermann iare as common as insults to Senator Kerry, to Chairman Dean, to Speaker Pelosi.. a place where insulting prominent Demcorats is perfectly acceptable solely because they are "on the wrong side." A place where it is fine to say "I'll stay home if Obama is the nominee". A place where it is fine to say "I'll support McCain over Obama." A place where progressive idealism goes to die. I'm glad to have been banned from there.
