Jonathan Alter is reporting on tonight's 8pm edition of MSNBC's "Countdown" that certain Clinton supporters actually want her to gracefully exit after Pennsylvania and prepare to run for Governor of New York.
She would most likely face Rudy Giuliani or Michael Bloomberg in 2010. This is all because current New York Governor David Paterson is having a difficult time shaking off his own peccadillos--numerous affairs possibly paid for by tax payers when he was a State Senator and Lt Governor. In fact, Clinton could run for Governor as early as November if Paterson vacates and a special election is called.
This would be a perfect exit strategy for getting Hillary Clinton out of the Dem race. What do you think? Wishful thinking? Or dreams do come true?
And what about folks like me who live in New York--you think I'm thrilled about Governor Clinton? Damnit Senator Obama, just win in Pennsylvania!
Bill Clinton is reportedly throwing cold water on the idea. The Clinton's don't seem like Albany types.
