Don't let the recent poll that has us 10 down worry you. I'm convinced none of these pollsters know Indiana any better than they know their own hind quarters. I'm sure they've accounted for the twenty thousand strong Indiana University student population who are becoming rabidly inspired. Who mostly don't have a land line.
No, my friends, Obama is TAKING Indiana. Nothing was given, but he is taking and WILL take this state.
More on the fold...
In the battle of information it isn't even close. Halfway through our nightly double dose of Family Guy we've heard two Obama ads already. Strong passionate ads. We CAN end this war. We CAN save this planet. Barack comes across as the decisive true leader we all know he can be.
Hillary? Silence. McCain? Silence.
So think of that next time we freak because some concern troll pundit is worried that this isn't over. Some of us don't even get it, but Hillary is doing us a world of good.
Because in the battle of misinformation, the score gets closer by the day. In 2004 we were fighting this crap up until the election. Now, it's freaking April and every skeleton seems to be accounted for. I sure know I've explained to every Independent and "not part of the 22%" Republican that Barack is not Muslim. Followed by a gentle push of the comfort zone to figure out why that would be a bad thing anyway.
Reverend Wright? Old news. Lapel pin and won't say the pledge? A joke to be laughed about. No experience? Eyeroll material.
Come November when, through our hard work and the once in a generation wisdom of Barack Obama, we record the greatest Democratic victory margin of any of our lives we all should post a "Thank You Hillary" diary. Why? Because she'll have put our man through a vetting damned near equal to a Republican assault.
What is McCain going to use against Barack that Hillary hasn't already tried? She's got the best political attack dog team on record. She's had a former President lobbing bombs at us. We know the script and we know the counter. The only effort it takes now is to fake chipperness while crushing lies for the 500th time.
Hillary's folks are saying it all ends in Indiana if she loses, and we're looking to oblige. A former President was in town but the line to the local Obama office sure looked nearly as strong and much more energized.
I work in an office with a mixture of Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. Not a single one of them who still support the President tell me they're voting for McCain. Most are for Obama and more switch by the week. And what are their main concerns? Ending this war. They're scared to death about the economy. They cannot afford to put gas in their car.
None of them see answers to these concerns in John McCain. Few see them from Clinton. Every week someone new comes to our fold.
So, obviously, we must never waver. Never take anything for granted. Never mail it in. But if you need a dose of energy, I can give it to you from the front lines. The tide is turning. We are winning. And by the time May rolls around and we go to vote Barack Obama will receive the most delegates from the state of Indiana. I can promise you that.
Hope everyone in the states that come before us are feeling this good. I won't take it too personally if you end this before I get a chance to help.
