What a wonderful reception of my first Countdown diary last night! Thank you all so much for your suggestions, comments, constructive criticisms, and kudos. They truly meant and will continue to mean so much as I continue to endeavor to represent Keith Olbermann and Countdown the best and most honest way I can. So, once again if anyone is TIVOing, DVRing, etc., stop reading here and contribute your great thoughts later on if you please.
#5 "Endorse Race" – How ‘bout that mention/endorsement of fellow "Hoosier" Rep. Lee Hamilton? Once again, I usually have so little about which to brag living where I live, so I have to do it when I can! I’ve heard President Clinton had a temper, but wow! Sentor Clinton cannot be happy if that really happened out in San Francisco. Richard Wolffe and Keith right next to each other?! Be still my heart! I’m sorry; I just couldn’t help myself. I’ll try to refrain from further beefcake comments. I have never thought Senator Clinton was "electable"; too many people from too many different groups from too far back hate her for reasons known only to them and would love nothing better than to knock her down a few dozen pegs. I can’t help but think that some of these "super delegates" coming out for Senator Obama have everything to do with good ‘ol fashioned revenge. Anyone that the Clintons have ever wronged – either perceived or actual – are getting their jollies by supporting Senator Obama. This statement is not a knock at Senator Obama, his qualifications, nor his abilities.
#4 "Party Divided" – The GOP isn’t working or playing well with themselves? What a freakin’ shame! Did I just say the GOP was playing with themselves?! Silly me, the Senator Craig "dragnet" was last night! "The comedian" was sure getting his jollies today ripping on Senator McCain. James Dobson is a boil on the butt of humanity. In the clips I’ve heard of Senator McCain on David Letterman’s show (another "Hoosier" – he was raised in my neighborhood!), he was actually pretty funny! James Dobson may not support the Democratic candidate, but if he and others of his "ilk" decide to stay home on Election Day out of disgust for Senator McCain, that possibility can’t bode well for the "good" Senator. Oh Senator McCain, PLEASE PICK CONDI for your VP; that’ll bring the Dems to the White House for sure! OK, cheap shot upcoming here. How can you take seriously anyone – "conservative" or not – named Grover? I just think of the cute little blue lovable "monster" on Sesame Street!
BUSHED! – Domestic Spying-Gate against those pesky war protesters; Conscience-Gate – Senator Lincoln Chaffee will call GWB "a schoolyard tough" and have some less-than-kind words about DICK, too, in an upcoming book; and, Wrong Enemy-Gate - Guess where most money supporting terrorism is coming from?! Saudi Arabia! Go freakin’ figure. **Jesus Christ on a spoon!**
#3 In another "look back" on 5 years of Countdown, "Staying the Course" Redux & the ever-changing list of why the heck we went to Iraq to begin with. Oh, there’s Donny Rumsfeld – again! What the f*ck is he doing these days? When’s he getting that Medal of Freedom? I really pity the poor person at Countdown that had to count all the "stay the course"s. I hope they got a vacation day or something! If 4000+ Americans and who-knows-how-many Iraqis weren’t dead, the Keystone Cops incompetence of this administration would almost be laughable – almost.
WPITW – Steve Dossey [apologies for botched spelling] at FAUX is doing his best Kevin Bacon in Animal House regarding the economy: "All is well!" Oh goody, "the comedian" is ragging on thrice divorced women and women who’ve had abortions. And, Tony Snow was corrected by Dennis Miller about Senator Obama’s voting record in the US Senate. Man, I used to love Dennis Miller! I miss the lovably snarky Dennis from SNL’s "Weekend Update" before he became a right-wing nutjob. Maybe the same alien who kidnapped the 2000 Senator McCain took "my" Dennis Miller, too.
#1 A Revisit of the history of Puppet Theatre on Countdown! YEA!!! That casino that bought the original Puppet Theatre puppets better still have them! Oh Keith, yes, I AM STILL PROUD OF THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY OF COUNTDOWN! Hey, in these tough days, we have to laugh sometime, or we’d never leave the house!
