I just love it when I hear Obama say that. I think it is from the movie Ice Age. I have the game and one of the characters say that.
I also love when he says 'love you back!' My spouse and I have been using that on each other these last few months.
This is a short story about how I think I made a couple of Hillary supporters feel better by finding common ground and getting them 'fired up & ready to go' no matter which Democrat wins the primary.
This couple runs a small business in town and I know they are die hard Democrats because we have been kibitzing over the last seven plus years over the disaster created by the Bush admnistration.
I hadn't been in for a few months and stopped by to buy some items and started to chat about politics.
I asked "Aren't you excited about Obama?" From the look on their faces I could tell they weren't happy about him. So I observed immediately, "Oh, you must be for Hillary". Yes, they were. So I said, "Hillary would be great also, but I am so excited about Obama. I just think he would be a breath of fresh air for our country. But, Hillary is also great." Their mood lightened up. Defenses down and I went on how much excitement the Democrat primaries are causing, how much money is being raised by the candidates and how many new voters are registering all because the Democrats have two great candidates. Republicans are doomed because they have a dull, predictable candidate. (I couldn't say old because this couple is older than McSame). Then they mentioned that maybe Hillary will win in Pennsylvania to which I pointed out that that is probably true but it will not matter in the long run and don't you agree that either Hillary or Obama will be exciting. I also stressed that I thought it was great that all the states are actively participating in the primaries. Something the Republicans can't claim.
Then they got excited. They got happy. And I think I made them feel better.
So, that's what I'm talk'n about.
Find common ground and start getting excited. It's contagious!
