This diary is a bit of silliness by me while I am waiting for rush hour to be over so I can go grocery shopping.
So I would classify Sen. Obama in the class of a Neutral-Good Rogue/Bard.
I say this because he is good at sneaking up and hitting a weak spot (see Super Tuesday caucus states). Also he has good at making a reflex save where he dodges something potentially damaging (So far Rev. Wright). He can take a hit but doesn't have the constitution to to head to head battle (If he were to get down in the polls he would probably be hurt by it a lot).
The bard part affects his charisma. he is very charismatic. Also he is a great orator. In his speeches he is able to easily sway others (see the reaction to A More Perfect Union).
As far as his alignment. He is good because he holds for the most part good policy positions (Pro-Choice, Get out of Iraq, Pro-Environment, etc. [this isn't a serious candidate diary]), however he seems likely to negotiate with the enemy to get things done so that defines him on the lawful/chaotic scale as Neutral. He will be more likely to compromise the perfect in exchange for the good.
Conversely, I would categorize Sen. Clinton as a Lawful-Good Paladin.
Paladins fight best in a straight up battle, only out classed by Fighters. While their reflexes aren't good (see the misstatements), they have a lot more hitpoints and can stand several attacks before going down (See how Sen. Clinton survived through February). Also there is a higher power protecting them (reputation of the Clinton's). Paladins relish fighting evil (the republicans) and want to see evil completely destroyed (Republican cuts to social programs restored). Also paladins see themselves as an extension of good (Clinton's loyalty to the democratic party). In addition paladins have a special ability that allows them to heal by laying on hands once a day (Firing Mark Penn?)
As far as alignment. Paladins must be lawful-good. If they stop being lawful good they lose their powers inherent to their being a paladin (possible relation to the campaign and a potential backlash against Clinton brand). Sen. Clinton is also good on the issues. However, I see her as being less willing to compromise with evil (conservatives), hence the lawful alignment on the chaotic-lawful scale.
Or maybe Clinton is something else entirely remember this was first posted at the Great Blue Venca.
