According to today's Hartford Courant, the Clinton campaign still hasn't paid for two high profile events held in Connecticut on February 5th.
The Clinton campaign owes $3,877.50 to the agency that manages The Learning Corridor, the magnet school complex where Clinton addressed 1,000 people on Jan. 28, campaign finance reports show.
And the Artists Collective is trying to collect $1,401 the campaign owes for renting its Albany Avenue performance center for a primary-eve event headlined by the candidate's daughter, Chelsea Clinton. . .Spokesmen for The Learning Corridor and the Artists Collective said the Clinton campaign has not responded to invoices sent in February and again in March.
These amounts should be chump change for the Clinton campaign. I mean $1,500 is a petty cash bill. By comparison, the Obama campaign paid its bill of $36,675 for an event at the XL Center in downtown Hartford that drew 17,000 people on the same day.
I am sure similar stories abound across the country since the Clinton campaign recently announced debts totaling $8.7 million. It is obvious that the Clinton campaign is using every cent it has on big ticket items, such as media advertising, to try to offset Obama's money advantage; leaving Clinton with little or no money for the nuts and bolts expenditures that a campaign incurs. Just another example of how the Clinton campaign has been mismanaged. As Kos has been saying, this thing is done.
