Lawrence O'Donnell and the rest of the Sunday Morning Circus Clowns have agreed: General Wesley Clark will be the VP nominee, no matter who wins the primary.
Says Mr. CW:
An Arkansas Democrat with a good smile, a great looking family, and career military experience -- that's what VP inevitability looks like. It seemed so obvious to me ten months ago that I rushed to get my prediction recorded before everyone else was saying it. Turns out I had more time than I thought.
What arrogance. What stupidity. What an idiot.
More below...
Don't get me wrong, I was one of the original members of Draft Clark 2004 and DWC back in the day. I have tremendous respect for the General as a man.
But that is really beside the point, isn't it?
The point here is that Mr. Know It All, Mr. Beltway Himself, Lawrence O'Donnell, and all of his Sunday Morning Monkeys, agree, but O'Donnell got their first: Whoever gets the nod will choose Wes Clark. And, everyone knows that whatever the Beltway Bloviators say must comes true. If not, well, then they are just Unserious and don't understand how things are done in Washington. After all, it really isn't Obama's place, now is it? It's really David Broder's place.
It's as if Obama absolutely must listen to the nonsense that the CW constantly pumps out, that any candidate without military experience will need someone on the ticket to "balance out" their inexperience. As if Obama is not Strong or Serious enough (as Glenn Greenwald loves to say) and needs a big military-daddy figure holding their hand, or at least balancing the ticket.
Our (inevitable) candidate, Obama, articulated the ultimate response long before O'Donnell's latest nonsense:
I think a lot of people assume that might be some sort of military thing to make me look more Commander-in-Chief-like. Ironically, this is an area--foreign policy is the area where I am probably most confident that I know more and understand the world better than Senator Clinton or Senator McCain.
See, O'Donnell, and the rest of you beltway baffoons? Obama is gasp his own man and GASP doesn't need a militaristic VP to hold is hand the way the war criminal Bush does. He is no Bush; he has a brain in his head and will, hopefully, listen to the wise counsel of those around him and not have his VP run foreign policy. He also doesn't need to listen to you or your lowly ilk.
Moreover, think about O'Donnell's presumption, arrogance, and general idiocy: He says this was his prediction before "everyone else."
What he means to say is that he predicted it before everyone who matters.
See, we the people don't matter because we're not a part of the beltway clique. More importantly, Barack Obama doesn't matter: The Beltway CW has settled that Clark will be the VP nominee. Therefore, it must be so. It cannot be otherwise. After all, Everyone Says So.
Here's a little dose of reality Lawrence: You don't shape reality. Believe it or not, Obama can actually think for himself.
That must frighten you, huh Lawrence? I mean, if Obama starts listening to the people and thinking for himself, you will be officially sidelined, won't you? What will you and your ilk do for a living when you are no longer relevant? Nobody will watch your shows, read your books or give one whit about what you think.
What will you do then, Lawrence?
Idiot.
