Good news out of Wyoming today for Blue Majority candidate and Daily Kos favorite Gary Trauner, who leads the two Republican front-runners for the open Wyoming House seat in cash-on-hand.
Lummis posted more than $168,400 in contributions for the quarter, including about $67,000 she contributed to her own campaign.
Gordon reported about $411,000 in contributions, about $300,000 of which came from his own pocket. Of that total, he has more than $86,000 remaining after beginning a series of TV ads....
Democrat Gary Trauner raised more than $250,000 in the last three months and now has about $550,500 for his campaign for U.S. House, dwarfing the totals posted by his Republican rivals.
That's an interesting approach to padding one's FEC report--a loan to pumping in $300,000! Lummis isn't much better, with her $67K loan contribtion to herself. Not only does Gary lead in cash on hand, he did it without a humongous personal loan. The majority of his funding for the quarter, nearly $190K, came from individual donors (like us).
More people powered politics working for a better Democrat. Given that Wyoming is a pretty inexpensive media market, and that Gary practices a great, knock on every door and talk to every community paper and radio station, kind of retail campaign, he's in a very good position for November no matter which candidate emerges from the Republican primary.

Update: I was incorrect in calling the money Gordon and Lummis put into the campaigns as loans. They were contributions.
