Kudos to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for another win in this long, tiring campaign for the Democratic nomination. Hell, in her honor, I might even down a shot but I probably just get even dumber. Because this whole mess, this whole pandering to the lowest common denominator has made me not only neurotic but just plain stupid. Thank God for books, because if I didn't have anything to read I probably would've thrown my vote on a wolf in Sheep's clothing that goes by the name of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
That being said, I did not want her to drop out of this race. Not after when Senator Pat Leahy, a man I hold with great respect, asked her to do so. I didn't believe that no one should force the DLC candidate to concede defeat when it was quite possible that she could win, even if it meant stealing the nomination.
I was wrong.
I was wrong to believe in folks like Bill Maher who ripped those at DailyKos for wanting Mrs. Clinton to drop out.
And, I was wrong to believe in Senator Obama when he said that no one should force Mrs. Clinton to drop out.
Now, you ask, what changed your mind? Well, there are numerous reasons.
1.) The "Bitter" controversy: Sure, Mr. Obama use of the word "bitter" might've left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, but the meat of his argument was dead-on. Folks do cling to guns, religion, Gay Marriage, and other cultural nonsense. Cultural issues should not hold weight in any election, much less an important election such as this. Those who vote on values only wind up holding the country back from much needed progress. Especially as we head into a new decade in this very young century. Showing her true Republican colors, DLC candidate Clinton attacked Senator Obama for being an elitiest. For talking down to the average man and woman who reside in the small town. Sounds weird coming from Clinton since she was a board member of Wal-Mart (a staunch, anti-Union business) and when questioned about her husband's affairs Hillary said that she wasn't "some little woman standing by man like Tammy Wynette." All of a sudden Obama's comment transformed Hillary into a gun-toting, duck-killing, Beer Swilling person who's just one of the guys. What I can't stand is a person trying to be something that they're not. But it's typical of DLC candidates and I shouldn't have been surprised by Hillary's pandering.
2.) Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran: Mrs. Clinton you're running as a Democratic contender who's been seeking change for 35 years not as another Neo-Con with a hard-on for war. Her statement that the U.S. would totally obliterate Iran was not only foolish, but stupid. It's bad enough that she voted for the 2002 Iraq war resolution to make herself tough and politically viable, it's even worse to threaten a country that poses no threat, especially when a recent NIE report says Iran halted its nuclear program 4 years ago.
3.) The Clinton's and their surrogates don't give a shit about the young people: Of all the nonsense that DLC candidate Clinton has given us during this election season, the one thing that really broke it for me was the swipe at Obama's base, the young college kid. Governor Rendall's assertion that College kids drink the Obama kool-aid, plus the ever increasingly pathetic Bill Clinton's belief that young voters are too easily fooled were just appalling. But I shouldn't be surprised. DLC Candidate Clinton views the young as collateral damage. Case in point, her 2002 Iraq war vote. The young were just another stepping stone on her way to a coronation. If it's true that young voters are naive to believe in everything that Obama's says, then Clinton supporters should qualify as being twice as naive. The Clinton supporter is being duped by a DLC candidate who is selling the good times of the 1990's. Mrs. Clinton is running on the successes of her Husband's administration, not of her own merits. For someone to run on another individual's resume shows that they're inept for any executive position and very, very dangerous. But that doesn't matter to the Clinton supporter. Instead of looking forward, instead of following the belief of Thomas Jefferson that every generation is entitled to their own revolution, the Clinton supporter stubbornly gives their vote to a person who doesn't have their best interest in mind.
When this election started I couldn't in good faith give my vote to Hillary Clinton. Even if meant that a Republican could possibly win the White House this year. I've had enough with the pathetic "centrism," and the pandering from the Democratic party under the Democratic Leadership Council. The war and the possibility of a Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton, is what broke it for me. And now as the race drags on, the negativity will rise and will hit it's peak in the coming two weeks. I hold Senator Clinton and her surrogates responsible for the garbage that has been spewed. We don't give a damn about Rev. Wright, Flag Pins, or other nonsense. The future is at hand.
Senator Clinton doesn't have the best interests of the future in mind, and for that she must exit and exit now.
