Did we really think the bastards would go gently into the night? Did you think Obama and us would overthrow the established Democratic party structure and the media by just making uplifting positive speeches?
No; the uplifting positive speeches, his intellect, and his organizational skills were enough to unify us into a movement and come a long way towards changing the established way things are done in the U.S. but the job is a long ways from complete.
I am sorry to have to say, uplifting speeches alone are not enough to overthrow the established order. Especially when the establishment is just fine and dandy being in service to the top 5% of the country.
What Obama and us have to do now is establish we are fighting for the 95% of the country which has been screwed over by the top 5%. Obama must give specific examples of how the corrupted establishment, specifically McCain/Bush and indirectly the Clintons, have screwed us and why the country must throw the rascals out.
Obama must be a firebrand populist in combination with the uplifting themes of his speeches. He must point out the US is paying 300% more per person than the best healthcare systems in the world and except for the top 5%, the US healthcare system is rated close to third world status.
He must point out the country is in trouble when the top 150,000 people earn more than the bottom 150,000,000 and the inequality of income has never been greater since the period prior to the depression. He must point out that growth of the economy when it only increases the wealth of the few is only termed growth by the establishment but is really greed. He must show how a bought Congress including McCain and Clinton have allowed this to happen.
He must speak to the blue collar white folks and say whether you support me or not; please understand how you have been screwed by the corrupt people in government and what I hope to do for you. If they end up not voting for Obama because some of them are racists; so be it.
In conclusion; he must teach the ignorant electorate what they already intrinsically know which is they have been screwed by the corporate elites who have bought the Congress, Presidency and indirectly the Supreme Court to follow their orders even if it only means 5% of the US has improved their lifestyle and wealth while the rest of us are stagnant or have a declining quality of life. The Clintons and the corporate Democrats in Congress are as responsible for the credit crunch, sub prime etc as the Republicans and its time we cast aside the virus of greed which has infected the Democratic Party for at least 25 years. To do this Obama and us have to be more forceful in our arguments and shown to be fighting for the 95% of the country which has been screwed.
