Utterly shameful.
Read this:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
And this:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal...
We are made to repeat and memorize these words as children.
Hypocrisy!
What has been done to Barack Obama is both wrong, and typically American.
Barack Hussein Obama, a U.S. Senator of our U.S. Congress came to us as a man with ideas and a towering intellect.
For his efforts, this man has been shamefully reduced to a "black" man who has to defend himself against accusations that he associates with "traitors."
Here, in a land founded on the principles of "Liberty and Equality";
A land that that fought a long and bloody for its own independence.
A land that fought a bloody and divisive Civil War to re-affirm the principles of freedom;
A land that fought tyranny in two world wars;
And, a land where the struggle for Civil Rights became enshrined not only into our Constitution, but into a global declaration of Human Rights.
In this land--America. A man has earned the right to just be a man.
Alas, in a spectacle of national disgrace the media and the Clintons have gleefully picked off the scab that had grown over the great and unhealing wound of racism upon which this nation was built. They filled the wound with salt and vinegar for their own selfish purposes and left the would to fester. In so doing, they have opened up a carnival of hatred.
That was their answer to a call for national unity.
That is why we still fight an illegal war, why we torture in hidden gulags, and why we have lost our most treasured Civil Liberties.
Because, in America...in 2008, a man, as brilliant as they come, still cannot just be a man.
That is what is so shameful...so morally repugnant that we should all be outraged to the very cusp of our souls.
