That's what Glenn Beck says. Sounds better then $25 for the whole summer. $28 might make a difference. So let's do the math.
I spend about $60/wk on gas a short 20 minute commute up 95 from Philly to Levittown. But for Glenn's sake we'll round that up $100. Gas is $3.56/gal with a bullet heading way up the charts but I'll round that down to 3.50. Because I like round even numbers.
Follow me below for this math lesson...
Divide $100 by $3.50 to 28.57 gallons. Multiple 28.57 gallons by .184 cents per gallon saved on gas tax repeal and I save drum roll please.... $5.26 a week.
That's not the end of this lesson. I got more numbers. In order to save $28 a week you would have to spend $2,128 dollars a month on gas(cross multiply $5.26 over $100 by $28 over n then multiply n by 4 weeks in a month).
And they say Obama is out of touch with working class Americans?
This tells me one thing that the gas tax isn't meant for the average American. Just like the repeal of the phone tax and every other Republican tax cut, the gas tax holiday will only help Big Business.
I wish someone smarter than me would start crunching some numbers because we are in the midst of a class war and we aren't winning because someone on our side(Hillary) is shooting at us from the rear.
