Beyond the presidential race, there is a buttload of statewide and congresional prmaries taking place tomorrow. With some, the outcome is obvious. Others will be close and no one knows for usre how they will shake out. Here are my prediction below the fold.
Indiana
- Gov: Jill Long-Thompson will benefit from strong turnout in Northwest Indiana spurred by Barack Obama. She represented the district in Congress from 1989 to 1995 and has strong name ID there.
- IN-07: Support from Obama will pull Andre Carson ahead.
North Carolina
1. Sen: Kay Hagan, no surprise.
- Gov: Beverly Perdue, again no surprise.
- NC-03: Joe McLaughlin will beat Walter Jones for the Republican nomination and this will be the big story of the night. McLaughlin has been hammering Jones on the Iraq war and we know that Republcans love them some war. What will also hurt Jones in the lack of a presidential primary will keep a lot of "regular" Republicans home, leaving the crazies to head to the polls.
So, these are my predictions. What are yours?
