What a sense of relief.
Like all of us, I've been glued to the television, newspaper, and internet for the past year watching this thing play out, and tonight, it's finally over. Oh, I realize it may be a week or two before Clinton throws in the towel, but I don't think there's any real disagreement out there about what tonight's results meant. And for those still clinging to that last thread of hope for her chances, the conciliatory, elegiac tone of Hillary's speech and the looks on her family's faces tonight should pretty much confirm which way the winds are blowing.
There's been a lot of admirable talk in the diaries today about unity, reconciliation, and moving past the vitriol that many of us have fallen into in the past months. I wholeheartedly agree. It's time for us to come together, heal wounds, and unite around the common cause of defeating John McCain in November.
