Just a short diary today. I had a letter in my inbox from Patrick Leahy and John Conyers asking for help in protecting America from At&T, and thought I'd forward it to everyone who didn't get one.
Here it is:
email to senators on FISA update WITHOUT amnesty
Brief description below
Apparently the ever-present urge to capitulate among Stenyites and Rockefellows has given the respective chairmen a bit of a start - they are asking activists to send an email to senators rejecting the telco amnesty passed in the last FISA debate. The fact that this comes while Hoyer is hinting he'll volunteer to lose the fight he's already won is no coincidence. (Maybe the Giants will come to their senses and give the Super Bowl to the Patriots, then??) That the letter is signed jointly with Rep. John Conyers is further evidence this is not only to lobby senators, but to remind representatives that there is significant public backlash to capitulating. Again. For no reason.
Again, here is the email:
Fix FISA Now
I sent mine, but my senators are Pat Leahy and the ever-entertaining Bernie Sanders, so it's like sending encouragement on this issue to mcjoan and kagro x.
Our elected leaders are asking to hear from us on an important issue.
Like in a democracy, even. So jump on it!!
Thanks, kossacks
