You've got to ask yourself, what do the Clinton's want? Certainly they know that their "brand" is tarnished, their reputations increasingly ar risk. I think, in the long run, the Clinton's greatest concern is reputation and legacy. Both these things are now in danger. How can we help them rehabilitate themselves?
I've got a modest proposal here. President Obama will likely have an opportunity soon after his tenure begins to name an Associate Justice to the Supreme Court. After all, John Paul Stevens is 88. What if Obama--as part of a larger "reconciliation deal" with Senator Clinton--agreed to name Bill Clinton to the Supreme Court?
I think there are some real virtues here. Where else could the former President find such a commanding position from which to both influence the direction of the country--for decades--and rise above the grubby level of politics he now occupies and rebrand himself? Senator Clinton can become Senate Majority Leader while President Clinton will be in the Supreme Court. Hey, two out of three branches of government ain't half bad. (Bonus: we might be treated to the Constitutional psycho-spectacle of Bill voting to declare a law drafted by Hillary as unconstitutional.)
Just a thought on a sunny Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.
UPDATE: Wow, I had no idea a snark could ignite such passions. It's good to know we're awake out there. I thought the last couple of sentences made it clear I was kidding, sorry for raising your blood pressure this afternoon.
UPDATE 2: It is an honor to be named recipient of the "Worst Idea of the Week" award. Finally, some street cred.
