That's a question I've asked myself lately. Looking at my notes for a diary I posted about Kossacks some 10 months ago, I see quite a few names missing.

Some have gone because they are tending their own blogs, others are gone via GBCW pieces for a number of reasons, some have fallen by the wayside, unable to get a steady readership, and quite a few have taken umbrage at the often biased candidate diaries: well, guess what? This is a political site, people will have heated debates ad nauseum and you know what they say about kitchen heat if you are fainthearted! I hope most of these posters will show up again once the candidate wars are over (are they...are we there yet?)

Here's a few that I miss, in no particular order: rserven - I loved her personal diaries, full of intimate details on how she reinvented herself as a woman in a "man's world". I know Pinche Tejano was more or less banned though I don't know the reasons but his diaries were always informative and had a good heart.

Lately bonddad has been awfully quiet as does Grand Moff Texan who regale us with his inimitable prose too few times. Sallycat has gone to EENR, having written a sort of GBCW piece, but I think she'll be back. Canadian Bill has quietly disappeared, his wonderful series of diaries about city hicks moving into country farming were a joy to read on Saturday mornings;
Kredwyn wrote some pretty funny pieces on his life as a writer, I wonder if he'll be back; another poster I haven't come across lately is AlphaGeek. Does anyone miss RealityBias? The sheer perseverance of his leitmotif pieces made me laugh, particularly when the "boys", Kestrel9000 and Taylormattd heaped a torrent of witty abuses on the poor guy!

Alegre went as well, we all know why, but long before she took up la Clinton cudgel, she wrote impassioned pieces on Darfur, as did SusanHu, who enlightened us with her pet diaries. MSOC, we all know where she ended up, but I have to say that her lengthy rants liberally interspersed with rich cussing never failed to amuse me.

Turkana is another loss, as is Kate Petersen and Runs With Scissors, another two posters I miss, though I happen to know where these last two are holing up! Here's another list of the posters that I think are MIA or writing a lot less: Radiowalla, Welshman, lulu57, andgarden, langerdang, TubaLes, Vigilant Meerkat, Mariachi Mama....ok, it's your turn, you add to the list, and let's get meta on their asses!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
