I stumbled across dKos a couple of years ago; delighted to find a site with often similar views to my own, complete with insightful and timely analyses of the political situation, I began to recommend it to others. Now, recall, this was before the primary candidates had declared.
I remember early on in this race that a number of contributors to this site were not so keen on Obama, mainly because he was not as bloodthirsty for vengeance against the Republicans as was the demand in those days. At that time, I had no preference in the soon to be upcoming primary battles. I was a Gore guy from '88, and was not heavily invested in any candidature for the 2008 nomination. In my humble consideration, Bill was good, but he was a strike against Hillary from the get-go.
As this site became more and more an Obama fan-club, I can't say I minded - given that, chronologically, it followed my evolution as an Obama supporter. I must say however, that, given the number of anti-Hillary diaries that I see on a daily basis, some of the attendees to Kos' party haven't gotten the message. (Excuse the caps) WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM!!!!!
It has been a hard-fought primary season and, you know what?, we've still got 5 more to go. Let it be. We know who the candidate is; let's try to begin to make our arguments and tap into the wellspring that is this membership to brainstorm on how we can explain to the American people that we NEED the Democratic candidate to win the WH this time.
If we allow ourselves to be played by their divide and conquer strategy, you will wake up one morning to find a Dem congress under President McCain.
Say it with me.
NOT THIS TIME!!!!
We WILL come together NOW and start to work together in earnest to bring in those Americans who voted against their economic interests by supporting the GOP.
We WILL come together NOW and start to work together in earnest to bring in those Americans who voted against their national interests in allowing this administration to endebt the country and take us into a war of choice, while allowing those who attacked us to relax in their safe havens in Pakistan.
Anyway, I don't get paid enough to blog to continue with this rhetoric, but I think you get the idea.
God Bless our America.
BTW, apropos of nothing, neat little LATimes delegate counter that shows how, however generous you want to be towards Hill, she can't win.
