While it is important that Hillary Clinton supporters show up to vote for Obama in November, it will not be enough to heal the party divide. Therefore I propose a program of reintegration for those who have not gotten on the Obama bandwagon. This program will have three stages.
- Learning - They must learn the reasons why Obama is "The One" by whatever means necessary. Perhaps Hillary holdouts could be strapped in a chair with lid locks on their eyes, forced to watch Obama's 2004 convention speech over and over and over again. Perhaps some Lewinsky clips could be slipped in as well. Or some editing could be done to make videos of Hillary biting the heads off of live kittens. Regardless, these clips should be pro-Obama and/or anti-Clinton... and the "viewings" should be marathon sessions.
- Understanding - Once a Hillbot has been through a few sessions, and consequently gotten more scared of them, it is then time to show some understanding. Instead of wheeling them into the viewing room, they get wheeled onto the set of the Oprah. She should greet each Hillbot with a great big hug and a tear in her eye. The topic of the show should be Obama's book The Audacity of Hope. None of the Hillary holdouts will cause any trouble for fear of a return to the video room. They will begin to see Oprah (and many other strong supporters of Obama) as their friends.
- Acceptance - It'll take a lot of Learning and Understanding sessions before the Hillary dead-enders come to accept Obama as the party's nominee and ultimately the President of the United States. Simply voting for Obama is not enough. They must be eager to vote for him. They must know that he is "The One". They must love Obama.
