NY Gov. David Paterson, a Clinton supporter, stated in an interview that he disagrees sharply with her action regarding the seating of FL and MI delegates. However, he continues to support her in the primary. link Paterson does not believe the DNC should change the rules in this matter. Frankly, I'm personally happy to see at least one of her supporters standing up and saying this is the wrong thing to do. This manipulation of FL and MI is very disturbing to me.
I don't understand how she could have made such a full U-turn from agreeing to the decision to loudly decrying it. Well, okay, I see why she would want it different, I just don't understand how she doesn't see this as hypocritical. I also don't understand how her supporters, to date, cannot grasp the larger picture either. I find Paterson's honesty to be refreshing.
On Clinton's claims regarding the popular vote and likening the fight to set the Florida and Michigan delegates to the civil rights movement, Paterson said:
"You have to rule out the undecideds in Michigan. You have to assume she won 100 percent to nothing in Michigan. I don't think anybody in their right mind would do that, nor would they see it as a civil rights issue."
I concur, wholeheartedly.
