I've been pondering Hillary's RFK remark, thinking on its context, trying to figure out where it could possibly be coming from, and at first, I gave her a pass - it looked and sounded as if she were really speaking on the fly, and about June presidential campaigning at that. But it niggles, the mention of RFK's assassination, because it doesn't fit the context, you know?
Imagine you're telling someone who's never flown on an airplane about landing or takeoff. How would you tell them about it? A normal, balanced person would undoubtedly mention the mechanical specifics, how it feels in the stomach ("Kind of like being on an elevator"), etc. They'd be working to not freak out or terrify the person they're speaking to, right? Ah, but an abnormal person, rather fucked-up, would mention plane crashes that occurred during landing or takeoff, and they'd do it the way Hillary worked RFK's assassination into the conversation: like it was the most natural thing in the world. Which it's not.
And that's the confounding part.
Mention RFK campaigning in June; don't mention his assassination. That's how a normal, sane person would've dealt with the context at hand - a normal, sane, balanced, basically rational, non-agenda-addled person, that is. But Hillary's so natural in the video, so on-the-fly, it's hard to believe she said what she said based on an agenda. So, does her unconscious have such a nightmare quotient of cynicism lodged within it? Is she so far gone a politician, has that profession so atrophied her soul, that the flaming hell of ambition is all there is left of her? Or - and here's what truly appalls - did a switch kick down in her brain as the conversation was rolling along, and she thought, in the split-millisecond thinking that defines a human brain, "Mention RFK's assassination - worry the Obama hordes - don't miss this chance! Don't!" God only knows. But it's not just God that should care. Everybody should, obviously.
My final analysis? There's nothing left of Hillary the person, who'd stand for this or that based on scruples and ethics and morals. Nothing is left. She said what she said, unconsciously or consciously, because she's utterly and totally hollowed out inside. She pedaled in a wretched national memory for (hopeful) political gain. Which makes her...
...unfit to lead, period.
