Ok, I know even talking about Hillary at this point could be considered beating a dead horse. But I couldn't help but try to share this wonderful analysis done today by Poblano at fivethirtyeight.com.
Poblano attempts to figure out who's attacking who more often, using scientific means rather than spin. He essentially counted the number of Press Releases by a candidate which were headlined with another candidate's name, assuming that is an attack. You don't see the McCain campaign singing the praises of Obama too often, so this methodology sounds good to me! The results speak for themselves...
Clearly, Obama has taken many more punches from Clinton than he's delivered.
Another interesting result from his analysis: So far in this campaign, Obama has delivered 19 "hits" on an opponent, McCain has delivered 27, and in the blue corner, weighing in at ??? pounds, Hillary Balboa Clinton has delivered 122 punches!!! Surprised? Me neither. But she really needs to stop complaining about being picked on by other candidates. The more she does it, the more it undermines her credibility, which does not bode well for her in her future political career.
For those of you who haven't gone to Poblano's site yet, you should...this guy's a genius. Anyway, he explains his methodology much better than I could, so go to fivethirtyeight.com for more details.
Many thanks to Poblano and co. for putting together 538 and so diligently updating it with the latest information. It's my new favorite election projection site!
