MSNBC is reporting that Harry Reid has just come out and joined Pelosi in stating the Dem. Presidential Primary contest, "will be over next week give or take a day."
Nothing up on the MSNBC web page yet, but I will post as soon as it comes up.
Sorry, not much of a diary, but I wanted to get the good news out. This is significant since Reid was a Clinton supporter and his son worked on her Nevada campaign.

Here are some excerpts from a NYTimes story:
"By this time next week, it will all be over, give or take a day," Mr. Reid said in a Thursday appearance at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, where he was promoting a new memoir.
In an interview on the San Francisco talk radio station KGO, Mr. Reid said that he had spoken with Ms. Pelosi on Thursday and that they had agreed to take steps to avoid a contest that would extend into the convention in August. "We all are going to urge our folks next week to make a decision very quickly," said Mr. Reid, who added that "simple math" indicated that by next Tuesday Mr. Obama would have the necessary number of delegates to prevail.

Update 2: Sorry, forgot the NYT Story linky! I violated one of the blogging cardinal rules, please be kind in your punishment.
Update 3: Here's an added tidbit from this CNN Story:
A senior Democratic aide tells CNN that Speaker Nancy Pelosi is already calling uncommitted superdelegates and pressuring them to back either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton between now and next week. Pelosi is working with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
As I see it, there is only one way to read this. Up until now most party leaders have been giving Hillary time to bow out gracefully on her own terms. But these statements by Reid and Pelosi and their actions behind the scenes should be a clear signal to Hillary that next week, they will be showing her the door and giving her at least a gently shove through it. I hope this does not get too messy for the sake of party unity, but if that's the way it has to be, let it be now and not in August.
