This Hell-No-I-Won't-Go Hillary-thing got me to thinking about the scene from the Wizard of Oz where the Wicked Witch of the West flies across the sky in the Land of Oz on her smoking broom and scribes the words "Surrender, Dorothy." Down below, Dorothy and her crew are being all scrubbed and trimmed, shined and polished, and generally just having a ball. There's joy, hope, positive vibes, and glamour in the air. And it all gets ruined when the persnickety, persistent, pain-in-the-ass, power-obsessed sourpuss insists on getting hold of those Ruby slippers, come hell or high water!
Imagine for a minute that our man Obama plays Dorothy, you-know-who plays the broom jockey, and just for kicks, the MSM plays the Grand Wizard. Poor Obama, it's not enough that he's made it to Oz, dodging poison apples (those trees did look like a couple reverends, a few radio talk-show hosts, and an ex-President), tripping out in a field of poppies (the Clinton campaign's continual realignment of the truth is like a stupefying narcotic), and when he gets to Oz, he has to face a fire-spewing Wizard that says "Whoa, you're not done yet, bring me the broom, then we'll talk."
Help me here but who's going to throw the bucket of water on HRC and tell her enough already? Why does the MSM insist on continuing this drama by talking up her VP hopes? What does Obama have to do to prove that he is more than ready and capable to lead our country?
Barack Obama won the nomination fair and square. He won the most delegates, he won the most popular votes, he brought in the most first-time voters, he brought in the most money, and he did it all with humility and a smile. Winning means being awarded the prize that is rightly yours, not sharing it, not "you won, but you have to give the loser half." If HRC wants to be VP, then she needs to get in line. But first, she needs to do the right thing--by all standards--and admit her defeat. It's time for the Democrats to focus on McCain and leave HRC and to the historians.
Surrender, Hillary! And if I may add..."All Hail Obama!" We're off to see the Wizard...!
