Everyone around here seems to talk about the need for party unity. That is why Hillary Clinton should have dropped out, after all. Yet, here we are, our candidate has won the presidential nomination. We are poised to obliterate Join McCain and the Republicans he defends. But what are we talking about?
Hillary Clinton. We can't stop talking about how badly Hillary wronged us. On the rec-list, in posts by kos - it is everywhere. The campaign is over, yet as much as we preach party unity, we aren't practicing it. We are getting our last kicks in against our downed opponent.
Hillary will support Barack Obama. We even know that she is likely to endorse him this week. Yet we are still piling on. This is shameful behavior. Sure, she didn't drop out when I would have liked her to. However, that is irrelevant.
We are talking about the here and now. We are talking about uniting the party. Yet all I hear from many Democrats is satisfaction about defeating previous foe - telling war stories, rumour-mongering, mocking her.
It is disgraceful. You are acting like that obnoxious Kerry supporter in that rec-listed Deaniac diary posted a couple days back. Stop it. You won. There is no need to act this way. Please stop, for the sake of party unity.
