I have been reading this site for quite some time now and have gained invaluable information regarding the 2008 election process and Senator Obama. I must say that there are very knowledgeable and informed bloggers who are very enlightening and provide significant encouragement to me and others.
Based upon my level of confidence gained from this site in particular, I got up enough nerves and ventured out to run for a national delegate position in the State of Texas. While I have always volunteered local, state, and political campaigns, I have never really been interested in running for a position such as this until Senator Obama came on the scene and transformed my way of thinking about this process.
Well, I started on this journey through volunteering my time, money, and resources to the Obama campaign both locally and nationally, and rallied to ensure that the Obama supporters in my precinct and other precincts remained informed and were adequately represented at the Couny and State Conventions. In the interim, I began to run a campaign against a number of well established and political savvy opponents in one of the largest Senatorial District in the State of Texas. In spite of the large number of opposers, the delegates from the local precincts in my area were very excited for me and joined in with me to aggressively help me campaign and win over delegates at the State Convention on June 5-7, 2008. I have a heart and passion for this campaign, and my enthusiam and excitement apparently has been contagious. As such, I managed to prevail and for that I am extremely grateful and honored. Further, I ensured that my campaign material (via mail, EFlyer, emails, and very effective campaign signs) effectively represented me as well as the next President of the United States, Senator Barack Obama in a professional manner.
This is without a doubt a proud moment for me and those who supported me, and I am extremely excited to participate in this year's Democratic National Convention supporting Senator Obama. I want to thank the Daily KOs bloggers for inspiring me to take this incredible step at a very historic moment and time in American history.
