The more I research John Mc Cain , the more I am puzzled by this misconception that he is qualified to be Commander In Chief let alone President of the United States simply because he was shot down in Vietnam and was a P.O.W. I mean no disrespect and I dare anyone to question my patriotism. My family has more active duty Military and vets in it than the average Republican in Congress. So, they can't tell me anything about sacrifice and service at all.
I would not be pitching a fit like this , if John Mc Cain could demonstrate just an ounce of good judgement about the current state of our Foreign Policy and National Security, but he has failed to do so time and time again. Not only did he vote for this war and defend Bush Policy wholeheartedly , he doesn't understand the enemy. Hell, he can't even identify the enemy. Times are too dangerous for someone who doesn't even know the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite. Why is that so important ?
Because we have an enemy who's sole purpose of attacking us is based on radical versions of their Religious beliefs and we are participating in an unconventional war in the Middle East and dealing with Religious sects that John Mc Cain doesn't seem to understand. His lack of knowledge and understanding about the different sects and factions can get AMERICA into even more trouble. For example, John Mc Cain said that Iran is "training Al Qaeda and sending them to Iraq". That would be like saying "Israel is training Hezbollah and sending them to Lebanon"
It makes us look stupid and weak before the eyes of the world. We have had enough global embarrassment by George Bush, we don't need or want four more years of that. John Mc Cain is making America look ignorant and weak. Here we have a man who claims he has the experience to be Commander In Chief and yet he makes gaffe after gaffe on serious Foreign Policy issues. He's not strong on Foreign Policy. He's just as weak in this area as he is on Domestic Issues and it's high time that be pointed out.
Another thing that annoys me about John Mc Cain , is his denial that he is joined at the hip with George Bush. He is. John Mc Cain voted with George Bush 95 % of the time in 2007. That's the real and CURRENT John Mc Cain. Not the one who ran in 2000. I'm so sick of politicians who think they can fool people like that. This "Oh, remember who I USED to be ?" tactic John Mc Bush and his BBQ Picnic Pals in the Media are trying to pull on the voters is not gonna work. Not this time.
John Mc Cain needs to be called out on this and asked to defend his George Bush Foreign Policy positions. I notice that his BBQ Picnic Pals in the Media are trying to shift the topic to just the Economy now, but it's all connected. It's inseparable in this day and age. Our Economic struggles today are , in fact , as a result of , directly or indirectly , the War in Iraq. John Mc Cain cannot change the subject on this. He wants to be judged by the perception that he is strong and when he is questioned about the facts , he wants to either change the subject or tell us that we have to right to question his judgement because he's a war hero.
The Republicans didn't seem to mind questioning the judgement of a war hero when John Kerry was running for President now did they ? No. Not at all. So, why then should the Democrats be required to hold our tongues when it comes down to questioning the judgement of John Mc Cain ? We shouldn't. We need to force John Mc cain to answer for his embrace of George Bush Policies in front of the American people. Period. No more free rides for this man. He's got enough free rides all these years. And his life long 68,000 Disability Benefits are enough reward for his P.O.W. Experience. So, he can stop bringing it up every time he's asked about the issues.
