John McCain continues to hold on to his title of being the most absent voter in Congress.
His missed-vote percentage is now at 60.8%. Although Barack Obama is the #3 vote-misser according to this list, his missed-vote percentage is only at 42.5%.

So what has the "maverick" been so busy with since April? Seeing that he has not showed up for work and voted for anything since 4/10/2008, he's gotta be doing something with all that time. Were the Democrats not keeping themselves busy enough for him? Now that the Democratic Party has a nominee, should we assume John McCain will no longer have time to participate in any congressional voting?
I know he receives a disability check from the government, but I though that was from the injuries he sustained from Vietnam. I didn't realize he was also disabled to the point he cannot perform his current job as a Senator. I wonder, do the people in Arizona appreciate the fact their Senator is the laziest bastard in Congress? If I were them, I'd be a bit weary about the fact he does nothing to contribute to the Senate.
Perhaps this is just his new strategy. With all the flak he has taken for voting 100% Bush-like lately, maybe his new method of avoiding future attacks such as these is to just not vote anymore.
Maybe it's true that old habits die hard...
McCain had conflicts with higher-ups, and he was disinclined to obey every rule, which contributed to a low class rank (894/899) that he did not aim to improve. McCain did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he didn't like, such as math
Sounds a lot like the idea of "doing just enough to not get fired" if you ask me. I wonder, will he take this approach to issues such as the Economy? Can we afford to have him study economics "only enough" to fuck it all up "only enough"?
