The "No, we can't" minority hold sway in the media and Congress, but We the Majority of American People want peace and justice.
A diary by pfiore8 this morning chastised the New York Times for its only coverage of Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment being an AP "No, we can't" take, without exploring the validity of the 35 articles of impeachment.
Several Kossacks piled onto the "No, we can't" bandwagon. Called impeachment "tilting at windmills," "Don Quixote," "folly," and this comment:
Well, it is not expected to go anywhere.
There is simply no mood to do this at the height of a nasty election year with just a few months remaining in the shrub's second term. The leadership and the Party are not interested in doing this. No surprise here. BTW, it has not gone anywhere so I guess the Times was correct.
My response to the
"No, we can't"/"glass is half empty"/Bush/Cheney/McCain/Lieberman/Fascism/Iran War enabler pessimists,
as well as to the
"Yes, we can"/"glass is half full"/Democracy/Peace promoter optimists:
Have you driven a Congressman lately...to obey the oath of office and defend our Bill of Rights?
In other words: "Have you hugged your Constitution today?"
I will make it simple and fun for you.

"No, we can't" is the mantra of people, who don't want change for the better, but want to continue doing the wrong thing.
We've heard "No, we can't" and VANQUISHED it for centuries:
"No, we can't end slavery."
"No, women can't vote."
"No, we can't send a man to the moon."
"No, we can't hold Nixon accountable for breaking into the Democratic Headquarters in Watergate by holding impeachment hearings."
"No, we can't end Apartheid."
"No, a black man can't win a Presidential primary."
"No, we can't hold Bush and Cheney accountable for breaking into everyone's phone calls and e-mails, torture, outing a CIA agent and her WMD unit, and 32 other counts by holding impeachment hearings."
BTW, why would anyone with any political savvy not realize that impeachment hearings would destroy the Republicans, not distract voters from voting for a Democrat, as they repeat ad infinitum?
Answer: the same ones, who enable Lieberman to distract voters from beneficial Democratic issues with lies that cause voters to doubt our Democratic candidate's patriotism with impunity, are against impeachment, even though it would help our candidate, not distract from his candidacy as they all parrot.
Lieberman is the one who distracts voters from the issues that are important to them and drives them away from supporting Obama, who is on their side! Lieberman repeats the same innuendos that are sent in anonymous e-mails questioning Obama's religion and patriotism , and he backs McCain, to boot!!!
We must, therefore, conclude that these so-called leaders of the Democratic Party, do not support the Democratic Party nor We the People, but work for the special interests for whom they prostrate themselves.
As Bill Maher quipped at a Sierra Club event (a member informed me):
Would the gentlelady, who represents Citibank, recognize the gentleman, who represents EXXON/MOBIL?
The reason impeachment letters to the editor don't get printed and the 35 counts get little mention in the press, except to tell us all, "No, we can't" is the same reason Pelosi took impeachment off the table and lets Lieberman trash our candidate without daring to DENOUNCE AND REJECT HIM:
It's the special interests who own the media & our Congress, who want us to spend trillions of our tax dollars on war, not the Democratic platform of healthcare, public education, public transportation, jobs, ... things that make America and Americans strong, stupid.
