Massachusetts is considered a safe democratic state, yet some polls have shown less than an overwhelming lead for Obama vs. McCain there.
The latest Suffolk Univerity Poll of the state shows otherwise. Obama leads by 23 points, 53-30%--a massive lead indeed!
The 7NEWS/Suffolk University poll was conducted Sunday, June 8, 2008 through Tuesday, June 10, 2008. The margin of error on the study of 500 is +/- 4.40 percent at a 95 percent level of confidence. All respondents from the statewide survey were General Election voters in Massachusetts.
The poll does show some continued resistance by HRC supporters to back Obama, but his lead is nevertheless prohibitive. I expect those voters will largely come around by election day, and Obama may even outperform native son John Kerry in the Bay State.
