I have never written a diary before directed at the Daily Kos community. This one is a first.
Please stop it. Please stop with the diary after diary on Daily Kos attacking other diarists for writing something nice about Tim Russert on the day of his passing. Please stop with the diaries complaining about the "cannonization" of Tim Russert and those blaming Russert for everything from the Iraq war to the price of gas. Please stop it.
Have some decency. A human being has died and has not even been buried yet. Please stop with the hateful diaries in the name of "truth".
Have some respect for the dead. I get it. You don't like Tim Russert. You think he should have single-handedly stopped the Iraq war. Perhaps you should reserve your venom for those who are alive and specifically those who actually took us to war. Stop with the nonsensical suggestion that somehow mourning Tim Russert takes away from mourning the deaths of those who have fallen in the Iraq War. Look around at the regular diaries - that constantly make the Recommended List - marking the passing of yet another soldier in Iraq.
Have the common sense to hold your venom out of respect for the dead, now merely a day after this tragedy. And yes, it is a tragedy. Regardless of what you think of him as a journalist.
We are supposed to be progressives here. We are supposed to be the ones who give a damn about our fellow man. We are supposed to be the decent ones - the ones who care enough not to dance on others' graves.
A man is dead. Please show some respect. Daily Kos is better than this.
